Questus has a unique position in the market as the only Approved NRAS Participant in WA’s Pilbara Region.  Questus will deliver over $400 million of affordable housing over the next 4 years.

The National Rental Affordability Scheme (NRAS)

The National Rental Affordability Scheme is an Australian Federal Government initiative to increase the supply of new affordable rental dwellings by up to 50,000 by June 2014. Under NRAS, the Federal, State Governments and Territories will provide tax-free incentives to approved applicants.

Summary of NRAS Incentives:

  • NRAS offers annual tax free incentive payments for ten years.
  • Payments are indexed in line with the housing rental component of the Consumer Price Index (CPI)
  • The current NRAS incentives from 1 May 2011 to 30 April 2012 are $9,524.
  • The Refundable Tax Offset from the Federal Government is $7,143 and the Non Assessable Income (Cash) amount from the State or Territory Government is $2,381
  • Properties must be rented at least 20% below the current market rent.
  • Properties are targeted to working Australians who are subject to income eligibility.
